The Basin Street Brawlers are specialists in early jazz styles and are renowned for delivering their music ‘with all the energy and assurance of a bunch of Kansas City veterans’ (The Sunday Times). Their debut record ‘It’s Tight Like That’ has garnered critical acclaim, described as a work of ‘world class musicianship’ (BBC).
The Brawlers regularly give concerts at the UK’s major jazz and chamber music venues, including the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room, the Pizza Express Jazz Club and the Holywell Music Room. The group are also in demand playing for dancers, featuring at the European Swing Dance Championships and headlining the London Swing Dance Festival numerous times.
The Brawlers have also led masterclasses in early jazz styles at schools and conservatoires, including the Guildhall School of Music.
